FAQS
Answers to all your questions.
1. What is Personal Performance or Life Coaching?
Coaching focuses on facilitating learning and self-development, improving short and long term performance. The process strives to move you from where you are now to where you would like to be.
Coaching aims to unlock your potential by breaking down any barriers that has impeded your progress in the past. It involves a journey of self-discovery, reflection, awareness and development.
2. How do I know if Coaching is the right thing for me over other services?
I advise you to read the section on how Coaching can help you if you are still unsure, please call to inquire further and we can arrange a free first-session to see if this is the right path for you.
If I think you require expert advice from other services such as consultancy or counseling then I will discuss this with you accordingly.
Coaching is different to other therapy practices. As a coach I believe that YOU have all the resources within yourself to achieve
happiness, success and fulfillment, as you are the expert in your own life.
I use my skills and knowledge to help you unlock the door to this path of self-discovery, development and ultimately success.
As a coach, I have effective listening skills that go beyond verbalisation to that of both body language and eye accessing cues.
By understanding aspects of the human mind, and picking up on both verbal and non-verbal cues, I am able to use effective
questioning and tools to help you in this enlightening journey.
I do not offer advice or mentoring in any way during the coaching process, as I believe that true empowerment is through
enabling you to make decisions that are right for you. I will, of course, be there to coach you through this process helping
you develop skills for life. Furthermore, whilst we may at times talk about past experiences or events, I will encourage you to
do this in a positive way through developing an understanding of past events and generating choices for action today. Through this,
I will endeavor to unleash your inner potential, and ultimately help you to achieve your desired goals.
Coaching is all about building an authentic positive frame of mind to move forward in life, improve performance and achieve
desired goals.
4. Do I have to stick to my same goal over every session?
No. You have the choice in every session to go with the same big goal you started with or change it.
As a coach, I believe that our life is dynamic and things come up in life that change both our priorities and our goals. Therefore, I will endeavor to understand your changing circumstances, helping you achieve your short, medium and long-term goals.
5. Where does face-to-face coaching take place?
Currently I coach clients either on Skype or face to face. We can agree on a mutually convenient place during the intake session.
The Intake Session is the first free session between the client and the coach. I will aim to gather information on where you are and what you want to achieve to see if coaching is right for you and explain to you how coaching works and the services I offer.
7. What services can iaCoaching offer?
I am a professionally trained life coach, NLP practitioner and have a degree in Psychology. I keep up to date with current research in psychology, NLP and the coaching profession through my membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS), Special Group in Coaching Psychology (SGCP) and the Association of Neuro-liguistic Programming (ANLP).
Whilst I truly believe in the power of effective coaching, I can offer mentoring when this is likely to be beneficial.
If you choose to receive mentoring, I will offer you information or guide you through research relevant to your goal or personal progression.
I can offer talks, seminars and workshops to small or large groups within different settings such as communities, schools and the workplace.
I am able to use DISC personality profiling for use on individuals for their personal understanding and development, or within companies to facilitate better communication and teamwork.
